I just turned on C-Span for the ever-exciting debate on the house floor. Alan Grayson, a Democratic Representative, just gave a summary of the Republican plan health care plan:
"The Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly"
Of course, the Republicans claimed that his statement was inappropriate on the house floor, which is just one more example of the double-standard set by the Republican minority. Some examples? From the eyes of many a Republican,
It is ok to publicly claim that the President of the United States is a liar as Joe Wilson did.
It is also apparently ok for a former US Vice-Presidential candidate to hit the road (and her Facebook account) claiming that Obama's health plan would involve a "death panel" for disabled citizens and the elderly.
It is ok to bring guns to health care rallies in honor of our second amendment rights or for someone to create a Facebook poll questioning whether it is correct or not to assassinate the president of the United States.
Republicans are not ok with giving the American people universal access to health care. Let's hope the Dems can figure out a way to make this dream a reality.
