The problem for straight Republicans (and far too many of their Democratic counter-parts) is that they don't when to keep it in their pants. The members of C-Street can pray all they want, but they don't seem to get rid of their sexual "needs" and/or "wants" any better than anybody else. In fact, the "mighty and the Powerful" seem to have just that extra dose of testosterone that not only makes them have affairs, it makes them have affairs and stupidly brag about it to the national or local media.
Instead of organizations that work at "conversion therapy" to attempt to change the sexual attractions and orientation of gays and lesbians, why don't we start a national "training camp" for straight male politicians to learn how to keep it in their pants? Perhaps we could start with the art of keeping the zipper up through-out the day. For the more sexually-challenged among the politicians, we might want to encourage a "safety pin" or perhaps the equivalant of a chastity belt? Maybe some special underwear that absolutely will not come off unless unlocked by the "rightful" person as the wife?????
The next lesson could be revolve around Intern-avoidance therapy. Training older men to make a bee-line when they see young Interns with prominently displayed thongs, blue dresses, or too much cleavage might just be the thing that we need. In fact, we could mark out pathways with orange duct- tape in offices to help the men avoid the very situations that get them so easily fired from their jobs in the first-place. After walking "the path of the righteous" a few times, they would be trained to avoid the "danger zone" of the Interns.
Of course, if the sexual training camp really was effective, we wouldn't have so many delicious sexual scandals to watch out for. I don't know what Dan Savage would have to write about and the talk shows would have to start talking about the sex lives of the celebrities again instead of the politicians. What a complete pain in the ass. What would we, the American public, do without a big sex scandal to keep us occupied? We might actually have to concentrate on real problems like the economy and health care....shocking.
Or maybe the lesson should be more along the lines of "Practice what you preach." If you are against sex-ed and sex outside of marriage, don't sleep with your Intern. Period. If you're against gay marriage and gay rights, don't act on your same-sex impulses and expect people not to be surprised.
