  • GOP RNC Spends $2,000 At Sex Club

    Michael SteeleMichael SteeleI think that Michael Steele's tenure as the figurehead of the RNC, the Republican National Committee, may be coming to an end. What you hear from me is not joy, but true sadness. I think, Mr. Steele was the best GOP chairman that Democrats could have hoped to sit in that chair. But too much stupid stuff has happened on his watch, and I can hear that Republican mob getting the boot ready, as they prepare to kick him out the door. The latest stupid thing is this: Almost two thousand American dollars ($1,946.25) were spent by the GOP  at a sex club, the Voyeur West Hollywood,!!! A "bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex." Voyeur is an exclusive, expensive club frequented by celebrities, for example by Heidi Klum! For crying out loud! How can the head of a party of shameless hypocritical buffoons allow such a blatant thing to occur?

  • Rep. Kendrick Meek: A Rising Star?

    Rep. Kendrick MeekRep. Kendrick MeekU.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek of the 17th district (D - FL), is a rising star of the Democratic Party.  In last Sunday's St. Petersburg Times the results of a recent polls show that he could be competitive in the Florida U.S. Senate race in November. A Research 2000 poll  (margin of error plus or minus 4 percentage points) showed Congressman Kendrick Meek with 40 percent support among likely voters and  former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio with 41 percent. In a matchup against Governor Charlie Crist, Congressman Meek trailed 45 percent to 36 percent. The general election is looking as if the matchup will be between Meek and Rubio. Rubio leads  Crist in the Republican primary, 58 percent to 30 percent. If Crist decided to run in November as an independent, the poll showed him winning 29 percent support, compared to 27 percent for Meek and 32 percent for Rubio.

If he did, he delivered  possibly the very  Most Historic F-Bomb Ever!  CBS says he apparently did, as he introduced President Obama during this morning's health care bill signing. "Vice President Joe Biden, " states CBS on its news web site, " apparently used the "F word," when telling Mr. Obama how much of a big deal the moment was.

Dennis Kucinich, the progressive Democrat from Ohio, announced  that he will switch his vote on the Health Care bill to a vote of "yes," despite his reservations. He became the first Democrat, who voted "No"  the first time around in the House,  to announce that he will be changing his vote, saying  that his vote may be the "deciding vote,"

Don't get me wrong, I'm about as far from the Right as possible, but I can't claim that the Dems are my party. I want one, just one, Democratic representative to do politics the way they ought to be done. I'm talking about wild, dirty, insane and extreme coupled with the kind of recreational activities usually reserved for high-power corporate executives and damaged celebrities.     Rep. Patrick KennedyRep. Patrick KennedyRep. Patrick Kennedy, (D-R.I), following the example of his father, the late Senator Edward Kennedy,  who on the Senator floor often railed for justice and common decency, railed this afternoon against the Media. In  a very emotional speech on the House floor, he  ripped into media, said that the American press corps was.doing  a "despicable" job covering the war in Afghanistan. He said  it's 'despicable' that press focuses on  Massa instead of Afghanistan. Yes, the toilet tissue, soap and mouth wash selling press would rather focus on the trivial, on something, anything, that doesn't tax their viewers minds, and drive them away to watch less taxing stuff. The media can sell more tissue paper with stories on the tickling soap opera that is ex-Congressman Massa than they can with stories on Afghanistan. The press have misplaced priorities.

  • No public option. No reform.

    President ObamaPresident ObamaPresident Barack Obama is showing very little backbone. He has kowtowed to the insurance lobby by leaving the public option out of his "final" health care reform effort. His press secretary  gave the excuse that Mr. Obama thought he couldn’t get 51 votes in the Senate to pass a health care bill which includes the public option. Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa)  begs to disagree. The Senator pointed out that the public option had 55 votes in the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is on record as a supporter of the public option. POLITICO reports that there is a letter, circulating in the Senate supporting the public option, that is gaining more senators  signatures every week.

  • Jerry Is Coming Back.

    Jerry BrownJerry BrownJerry is coming back. Back? He hasn't left. Sure he was a two-term Governor of California back in the 70s and early 80s, but he is the California  current Attorney General  and was a successful mayor of Oakland. Yesterday, he officially entered the governor's race. Most Californians knew this was coming, and so far he doesn't have a challenger in the Democratic primary.

    Any one who has been casually following California  politics, would ask: Why would anyone want the job of Governor? The state is ungovernable. Jerry Brown in his campaign video says that he knows how to get California working again.

    Nancy PelosiNancy PelosiOn the ABC and CNN Sunday talk shows, yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi   predicted that if the Democrats return to their tradition emphasis on jobs and on serving working and middle class families, the Democratic party  will retain their majority in the fall 2010 elections. She said the Democrats are "bracing" for a tough and "difficult election." But the party is "ready." She reminded the TV audience that the Democrats "inherited a terrible mess from the Bush administration and (from) their failed economic policies." And that the Democrats are working to improve the economy.
